Working as a DB2 dba for over 15 years, I spent much of my free time wrapping up in a GUI most of the task I do as a dba.  That was the genesis of this windows application. At the beginning, I needed to access my production database quickly, especially when on call.

Building this tool I was able to see what was going on in the system, what the users were doing, investigate slow performing processes including locking queries. This saved me from the tedious task of looking up snapshot syntaxes, memorizing large DB2 or Unix commands.

Today, this application does much more than its simple beginnings. Instead of using the uncomfortable tree view most of database utilities offer to get to one object, I just click the tab of the object I want to look for, and find what I need with a couple of mouse clicks. I can get the status of the tablespaces, how they are distributed/skewed at partition level using graphic or list views, and much more. This application is also great to get the DDL structure of any object, in large, multi, and range partitioned DB2 databases.  Junior DB2 dba's and developers will find it very useful, but senior dba's will love it.
